Raveena ! One of my BIGGEST women crushes of all time. She is a beautiful musician that not only produces smooth, feel good r&b tunes but also communicates incredibly important and relatable messages. Her music is immensely relaxing, full of love and just makes you want to boogie in your room. Her lyrics are sweet yet powerful. She references nature frequently and emphasises how the natural world can empower us as well as talking about her experiences with love, family and most recently, sexual assault.
In 2019 she released her album called, ‘Lucid’, which explores her journey after sexual assault and rediscovering your power and strengh as the album reminds us we are our own savior. Her songs, “Salt water” and “Stronger” are very moving as she expresses the suffering she endured and shows the confidence she has found through her pain. Later on in the album she goes into further detail about the importance of being loving and connected to yourself. And by the end of the album her two songs, “Still dreaming” and “Petel” convey her conclusions about life after trauma and in my personal opinion, are perhaps the best songs on the LP. This album is sincere and wholehearted and kindly reminds us how powerful and amazing we are!

Her blog is very empowering as she openly talks about her experience in overcoming the trauma - I would highly recommend reading it !! Also check out her music videos because they emphasise her messages even more as well as being VERY athestically pleasing, especially for “Stronger” and “Mama”.
